Search Engine Flack!

SEO-strategy2

Hmm. I’m still getting a lot of comments back on the search engine thing, so let me clear it up a little more…

Yes; if you get a top ranking on a top keyword you will get top traffic. Duh! Its always been that way, it always *will* be that way.

I get top rankings because I don’t target top level keywords, never have.

You see, I’m not looking for people want to search for an “internet business”, I’m looking for people who want to engage in “internet business training”. I don’t care too much for the billions of people who are looking for some kind of “home business”, I’m looking for people who want “home business training”.

Why? Because that’s what I do. So instead of getting 5,000 people a month to my site from a particular search term, I only get 500. But the thing is, almost every one of them are looking for what I’m offering; there for I have great stick rates and incredible conversion rates.

Would I prefer the 5,000? Yes, because no matter what it’s going to give me more customers in the long run. But the effort that’s required (and sometimes cost) to get that top ranking on a bland keyword in my industry is just silly (up to $22 PER CLICK in Adsense on some keywords).

But like I said to the lady from my first email on search engine stuff- go to http://www.maximumsuccessuniversity.com and register as a member, you’ll get more search engine training than you can poke a stick at –

Certainly more than enough to make sure you get the results you want.

Back to the Search Engine Thing…

So… back to the search engine thing, what a way to figuratively lob a few nukes over the wall at the SEO purists LOL!

Got myself a few interesting comments back on that last one didn’t I? :]

So let me explain myself a little more thoroughly… and add in a disclaimer –

I DON’T get all that much traffic from search engines. I never have. Only about 1 / 3 of my overall traffic come from search engines, the rest comes from referring websites and links form the special reports, eBooks and products I’ve sold over the years.

Because no matter how many times the search engines change and update themselves, people are always going to be people, and when you offer good quality content o PEOPLE… they come after it in droves.

So – you want traffic? Then go create a website that people will happily CHOOSE to visit and tell their friends about. It’s that easy.

There are No Search Engine “Secrets”

search-engine-secrets

I had an email this morning from someone who had seen a video post of mine on YouTube about the kind of search engine results that I get for myself and for clients.

She seemed desperate say, “I need to know what tools you’re using because no matter what I do can’t get enough traffic to my website.”

Other than directing her to http://www.maximumsuccessuniversity.com, I explained it to her in very simple terms –

There are no search engine “secrets”… there are only people selling them.

Food for thought, don’t you think.

Outsource Backlink Solutions

How to Outsource Backlink Solutions and Get Results

By Paul Barrs.

If you’ve invested any research time online during these past 12 months, at some point you’ll have come across the term ‘backlink’. If you haven’t, it simply refers to a link to your website on another website that links ‘back’ to your website.

A number of years ago we called them reciprocal links because we also had a link from our website ‘back’ to theirs as well. However, over time, as the rules began to change, it became obvious that the less links we had going ‘out’ from our website, and the more ‘in’, the better is was for our search engine rankings.

But (and this is a BIG but…), if you’re a small business manager, and your primary job is to “run a business”, not ‘run a website’, then setting up profitable backlink solutions to your website is a very unprofitable task – it simply takes to long.

This is why you should outsource backlink solutions to a full time back-link expert. Simply put, get someone else to do what you don’t have time to do!
